My Coin Out Experience

  • 0

Of all of the cash back or rewards apps I’ve tried, Coin out is probably the easiest and lowest maintenance one. It’s so straightforward and takes very little time to get started. It’s easy to stay motivated and keep using this app. In this Savy Savings post, I’ll go over using this cash back app.

About Coin Out

Coin out is an app that allows you to earn cash back for scanning receipts. That’s it. The only requirements are that the receipt is less than 2 weeks old, and has basic time stamp information in order for it to be accepted. The app recently changed it’s system from showing exact dollar amounts earned to “points”. So far the exchange between the two seems to be exactly the same, if not better. With this new system, there are also spin to win rewards to give addirional points back.

I’m not a super fan of this, because it gives major gambling vibes, but I’ll still take the free spins and extra money.

My Coin Out Use

For me, using Coin Out is extremely easy because I just choose to keep my receipt from the store rather than throw it away instantly. I scan it at home while doing my budget and voila, earning money back. The return from Coin Out is not very large. When the app showed the currency in real dollars each receipt would only give $0.01-0.10 when scanned. It really isn’t much, but for barely putting in any work I’m happy to see the occasional cash back from using this app.

Yes, it’s real money. I cashed out $20 last year and this year I’m already set to take out even more by the end of the year.

Starting With Coin Out

Like most membership apps or sites, begin by creating an account with the app. I’d suggest having some receipts handy so you can scan them and start earning right away. You can always check your recently scanned receipts from the home page to make sure they’ve been accepted.

My advice for this app is just to use it, and not worry about the balance. After a few months you may be pleasantly surprised with a little extra spending money!
